Arnold Jackson is a three-piece pop/rock grunge-type outfit based in Ukrainian Village. They sound like what Nirvana would have sounded like had Kurt Cobain been a copywriter, Krist Novoselic been a classical guitarist, and Dave Grohl been a Ph.D. candidate in Art History at the University of Chicago. The band in its initial form was conceived of at a Sleater-Kinney/Gossip show at the Metro, and remains a high energy, soulful, passionate, garage pop/rock outfit a la those two bands. (And the Pixies. Can’t forget the Pixies.) Catch their live show for nearly 30 quirky original songs, and the darkest, sexiest cover of “Private Dancer” you’ve never heard. CD/DESCRIPTION = Arnold’s releasing a six-song debut ep in 2002-- called 'the black arts ep'. Includes anthems about suburban ennui and life in the city, as well as other rockin’ tales of sex, religion, and nonsense.

BANDNAME = Bob's Yer Uncle DESCRIPTION = Bob's Yer Uncle is a Chicago band formed in 1995. The band consists of members Phil Barish (Keyboards, Vocals), Bill Henshell (Guitar, Vocals), Adrian Matthews (Vocals, Guitar), Jaxon (Drums), and Paul Young (Bass).
Bob's Yer Uncle plays melodic rock with a bluesy edge and harmonies, incorporating an array of eclectic songs with no specific influences (thanks Adrian). This, of course, is just our opinion. The only way to describe us, as with any band, is to come and see us.
