So you’d like to take a gander at all the most hip places to go to on the web huh?.. Well you have come to the right place.. Whether you are setting up your own page for your band or just want to check out some really cool music related sites. I’ve got something here for you...
What ever happened to Adam Curry?.. I’ve not seen him doing any infomercials on late night TV. Could it be that he dropped out of existence? Died of Metal fever? Has he become the leader of some metal militia group? Nay I say!. It seems he is on the net running a very extensive music site. Go say hi to an old friend and check out what he has been up to :)

In the URL below you’ll find 2500+ links to record label web pages. Some of the pages are maintained by the labels themselves while others are fan-created discographies. This list does not include distribution-only labels, online, or band sites.

Here is an alternative to the Ultimate Band List in that these are bands that you probably have never heard of unless you live in their town. They have several bands on the site already but have a lot of room for future growth. FREE, of course. I like how they have a place for bands to list a few of their influences so you can have an inkling as to what to expect.

I have found another site for the purpose of providing web presence for independent musical acts FREE of charge. Underground bands are bringing them music unmanipulated by corporate trends, breaking new ground and shaping the future of popular music. Indie bands often lack the radio exposure they deserve, and the web is the ultimate alternative for them to get their music heard. Any style of music is welcome here, especially all varieties of rock: metal, alternative, industrial, punk, progressive etc. GET YOUR BAND KNOWN ON THE WEB! SUBMIT INFORMATION EVERYWHERE!

If you are particularly looking for death metal, you might wish to visit their sister site.

EEEK! Something about the word “BEST” involved in any title of an artform makes me uncomfortable. But here is a site that is self dubbed itself “The Best Bands of 97”. The only reason I am adding this as a resource is because they do have something substantial.

Are you planning a trip to Minnesota anytime soon?. If so, check out the local band scene on the web before you go.

Want something VERY odd?, How about a site that seems to be interested in your fear of clowns. I’m not going to explain what I’ve been experiencing after going to this site (I’m now on medication and doctors’ care because of it). All I will say is that it is QUITE bizarre. You’ll have to see your yourself.

Now for this month’s gaming pick. The long awaited Hexen2 uses the QUAKE engine. It’s got all the realism of Quake with a medieval feel, look and taste. No longer are you looking at every shade of brown like quake offers. In Hexen2, you experience deep purples and reds. Cast loads of spells and turn other players into sheep with the Little Bo Peep staff. The free demo is finally here!
